I am working for the Axalta Powder Coatings Company which is an American Company active in Powder Coatings, Paint and Refinish Industries, at Cerkezkoy plant in Tekirdag/Turkey since Aug 2022 as the Process and Technical Leader.
As the Process and Technical Leader, I am responsible for the following,
- Monitoring and reporting the production performance. Taking necessary temporary or permanent actions in case downtime or poor throughput reasons or quality defects led by the production arises.
- Preparing and improving the Production and Quality Control Performance dashboards regarding performance parameters like OEE%, throughput, downtime-reason analysis, production plan forecasts (in Power BI, Excel and PowerPoint formats)
- Analyses of the production and Q/C performance data for determination of the improvement action.
- Leading the projects regarding the increasing the plant throughput performance.
- Taking role in the determination, procurement and budget planning (OPEX/CAPEX) phases of the equipment and services necessary for continuous improvement projects. Monitoring and reporting the performance of the new equipment / services or instructions.
- Preparation/Revision of the working procedures & working instructions related to production processes and train the production personnel regarding the newly-introduced or revised Procedures/WIs.
- Leading the organization of the Production / Maintenance personnel's activity plans and work schedules.
- Leading the daily plant performance meetings.
- Involving/leading in TPM and Lean activities such as 5S, 6Sigma, Kaizen projects etc.
- Collaboration with the other departments to improve the plant KPIs such as TPD, KPI%, PFC, OEE% etc.
- Attending and organizing the new personnel job appointments.
- Involving in new product trial procedures.
- Leading the introduction and organization Global performance systems and best practices.
I worked as a process engineer at Indorama Ventures Çorlu PET Plant for the last 4 years. I was responsible for;
- Sustainability and maintenance of production in shifts, organization of the shift personnel
- Monitoring the process conditions, arranging the product changes
- Taking role in especially technical calculation phases forenergy and cost saving projects.
- Responsible for the operation of two polymerization plants (Continous melt polymerization and solid-state polymerizaton plants), ETP plant and raw material loading facilities and waste recycling facility
- Involvement in both project and operation stages of many process improvements such as utilization of heat exchangers, insulation of the transfer lines and silos in terms theoretical calculation, design and comissioning.
I worked as Stock Preparation Engineer at PM5 Production Line for 1,5 months during my trial period. Unfortunately, I had to resign before my trial period ended since the company changed my position without giving me any notification just before I started to work.
During the period, my responsibilities were;
- Keeping the pulp stock ready for the paper machine and make regarding stock planning.
- Monitoring the process parameters and take the required actions when necessary.
- Doing the required literature researches regarding the process equipments and operations in order to provide process optimization in terms of energy management and production capacity and planning the necessary improvements.
- Monitoring the spare part and auxiliary equipment stock condition and the cases that may lead in equipment malfunction and control of procurement and repair progress of these items.
- Organizing the shift plan of the blue collar staff and monitoring the jobs done by the staff.
- Providing the integrity of the work done in the field to ISO 14001, ISO19001 and ISO5001 standards.
I worked as a Production Engineer at Spinning and Take-Up processes at the Turkey plant of Hyosung, a global South Korean company producing polyurethane-based elastane (spandex) yarn under the brand name of Creora.
I was responsible form total of 4 different production lines and averagely 12 different product lots at Take-Up process.
My responsibilities was as follows;
- Monitoring and reporting the production performance data
- Monitoring of process parameters and physical property results and take the necessary actions accordingly.
- Making necessary analyses about the recent and past specific production faults on the physical appearance and properties of the products and planning necessary improvements and taking corrective/preventive actions
- Planning and organization of the tests regarding production capacity and product quality and, monitoring and reporting the results.
- Planning, organizing and reporting of the product lot changes and taking necessary actions in case of the unexpected situations that may occur.
- Monitoring of shift arrangements of the staff and providing integrity of the works done by the staff to the SHE standards, standing operating procedures. Tracking and reporting the performance of the staff and preparing the required tracking methods.
- Provision and monitoring of TPM, 5S and Kaizen practices and standards in the production field.
- Stock tracking of the auxilliary materials and making purchasing requests when necessary and monitoring the purchasing progress of these items.
- Monitoring the blue collar staff-hiring processes for Take-Up and conducting the job interviews.
- Making planning and organization for the unexpected cases such as power-cuts and recommission the production at the shortest possible duration.
- Detection of the required maintenance and installation works, preparation of work request documents and provision of cooperation with the related maintenance department.
During my academic education and the following year, I worked as a freelance translator for several translation agencies and engineering consulting firm in many fields such as, media, marketing, lawsuit, literature and especially in technical documentation for engineering projects
