I am an agricultural researcher with over 12 years of experience in basic and applied research as well as undergraduate teaching at the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR). I hold a B.Sc. in Horticulture from Ambo University and an M.Sc. in Crop Protection (Plant Pathology) from Hawassa University. Currently, I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Crop Protection – Phytopathology at Selçuk University, Turkey, where my research focuses on advancing sustainable solutions to plant disease challenges.
As a Laureate of the One Planet Fellowship (AWARD), I successfully completed a three-year program on climate research leadership, which strengthened my capacity to integrate climate-smart approaches into agricultural research. In addition, I actively mentor a young African scientist under the same fellowship, contributing to the next generation of agricultural leaders.
I am a proactive and dependable researcher skilled in project development, proposal writing, research communication, and data analysis. My expertise covers plant protection, particularly phytopathology, disease diagnosis and management, integrated pest management, and the biocontrol and biopesticide development of phytopathogens. Passionate about supporting smallholder farmers, I strive to promote sustainable agriculture and food security through innovative, science-based pest management solutions.
