Thermal Engineer

Dublin
06.2009 - 01.2010
  • Collect and compile data Distribute data and information to Damascus and Calgary Relay information to other departments in the company
  • Basic analysis of data such as: Production and temperature increase/decrease in neighboring
  • And Compare production and boiler behavior for steamed wells Budget & planning Design/oversea any modifications to boilers and related equipment

Thermal Operator

Dublin
05.2008 - 06.2009
  • I worked for Dublin International Company in thermal department (steam injection) as a Thermal operator where we were injecting the steam inside the reservoirs to heat the heavy oil...So decreasing the viscosity of it and improve its movement Our job can be divided into two main parts: S.G.U (steam generator unit) (high pressure boilers) which turns the water into steam by using the natural gas or the diesel as a fuel W.T.U (water treatment unit) which purifies the raw water before let it go to the S.G.U From the following: 1- Dissolved oxygen that cause corrosion (pitting) 2- hardness (Ca+, Mg+) that cause a scales Suspended materials Low PH that causes also corrosion And also, we used to measure the steam quality by two ways (conductivity- Alkalinity)

Senior Field Specialist/then Promoted to CRO

Schlumberger
10.2022 - Current
  • Subsea wells operated from offshore by HPU unit
  • Gas plant: MEG injection & MRU (pre-coating/Divalent salt filters/vacuum pump /flash separator/distillation column/reflux)
  • TEG contactor/ regeneration unit)
  • Utilities (air compressors /air dryers / N2 unit)
  • Heaters / LP Boilers /Sand jetting / Chemical injection
  • Demineralize water & Produced water treatment.

Production Engineer

Glencore
04.2015 - 01.2022
  • Wells Monitoring: via SCADA System for surface & downhole data
  • Wells optimization: using PROSPER software
  • ESP design: using DESIGNRITE (Schlumberger) & Solution (GE) software
  • ESP troubleshooting: Analyzing downloaded VSD data
  • Development ESP System: Using last ESP technology & tools (Y-tool, ADV, Sand guard & required SSD for better production options)
  • ESP star-up procedures
  • Workover proposals & programs including all slick line jobs (sand tag, RIH /POOH memory gauges in X profile & side pocket mandrel)
  • EOR, including acid wash, Fracking & perforation
  • Downhole memory gauges / downhole shutting tools: Programming & downloading data for analyzing (Omega & Spartek gauges for annulus & tubing downhole recording)
  • Water injection wells: Monitoring surface & downhole data (P, T), and following Chemicals tracer project
  • Coil tubing programs (for acid, cleaning out the wellbore from sand, perforation, etc.) Supervising chemical tests for water injection wells (TDS, Turbidity, PH, dissolved O2 & Bacteria test)
  • Lab test: BS&W%, Pour point, oil viscosity & density, etc
  • Well test: Initial & continuous test with 3 phase separators
  • We used also MPFM Vx-Spectra provided by SLB for 3 phases well testing
  • Sand Monitoring: using sand sensor
  • Corrosion rate: At different pipe points (scheduled ultra-sonic thickness measurement & corrosion coupons installing, removing & test results) Daily/weekly/monthly/quarter & yearly reports: including production performance, workover plans, Proposals & budget, etc
  • Data management: using EVIN & ProCount
  • Well passport files: keep the well history updated with all important files since drilling up to the moment
  • CPF & gas plant processes: Producing dry gas & condensate
  • Start-up procedures: for all new wells, including portable test unit Provided by SLB, with sand filters from proppant which may flow back after fracking the well
  • Checking last updates in ESP industry to improve our ESP completion and taking care of our inventory for future requirements & purchase orders using EAM software.

Production Engineer

SINOPIC
01.2010 - 09.2013
  • ALS according to the reservoir & oil properties: types (ESP, PCP & SRP (IP & TP)) with so many kinds of surface units for SRP (Chinese 14T, American 12T, American 8T & Rota flex) Which give us different SL, SPM so different productivity Optimize the well production, according to the reservoir behavior and the changes of WC%, DFL, WHP, CHP, BFPD, BOPD & gas production, also analyzing of the dynamic cards for SRP & monitor the Hz, Amps & torque for PCP EOR (Enhancing oil recovery) which mainly aims to improve the reservoir permeability, oil viscosity or reducing water production Steam injection: We use it to reduce oil viscosity with special tools (Kuri tools) to improve the heat distribution system inside the reservoir, especially in big fractures zone
  • We used huff & puff way not floating because of the complicated fractures that we have
  • Acid squeeze: by CTU to improve the reservoir permeability when we have skin affection & no big fractures through all the open hole section which cause losing the acid there
  • Selective acid job: Where we have good pay zone with no good permeability & there are some big fractures through the open hole section (depending on the Petro physical logging we can select special intervals & use two packers to guide the acid wherever we want to
  • And avoid losing it in undesired intervals) Acid fractures: to create some fracture in the formation which has oil, but it is very tight (good porosity but no permeability) Water Shut off: (depending on PLT results) Reporting & evaluations: after any of all the above-mentioned jobs, I should prepare an evaluation
  • Including the cost and the gain (after calculate the natural production decline), then make reports to show analyzes for each month and each quarter
  • Petrophysical logging to find the good pay zone & check the permeability when we want to suggest any acid job
  • Directional drilling survey (Inclination, DLS, etc.) when we want to determine the pump depth for horizontal wells, taking into consideration the allowed limits
  • CBL & VDL logging to check the cement situation, especially for injector wells (Steam or water) and also to know where we should set the packer We used MPFM (multi-phase flow meter) for well testing, not 3 phase separators as usual I was supervising the Amerada Crew during down hole pressure measurements to be sure of following the determined program
  • Then take the results to calculate pressure gradient & DHP.
