MERVE GULERIM

I am a M.Sc. student in Molecular Biology and Genetics with a strong interest in biomedical technologies, nutrigenetics, and bioinformatics. Determining the associations between genes and traits, diseases of genetic and immune origin, and analyzing these data with the help of biotechnical applications are my main topic of interest. I'm going to build my career path by these there ideals; advancing public health with science development, drug supplements, or genetic analysis production. Alongside my scientific background, I naturally excel in communication and relationship-building, which makes me highly motivated for roles in the pharmaceutical industry, especially in sales and regulatory affairs. I enjoy the dynamic nature of sales and believe I can use my scientific knowledge to clearly convey complex concepts, support decision-making, and build strong professional connections. My long-term goal is to combine biology, technology, and human interaction to contribute to global health innovation-whether through product development, scientific outreach, or pharmaceutical solutions.

I was Turkey Student Liason IEEE EMBS which is a biggest global engineering society in 2023-2024. Until I took up this position, I have been an active member of this society for 4 years. I was the chairman of the EMBS (engineering and medicine and biology society) committee in my university club for a year and managed a team of 10 people. The representation oversees the chairpersons of these field-specific committees in all other schools and ensures order, organizing congresses, educative activities around the Turkey. Besides my student life, I carried out many projects for my personal development. I was the organizer and general coordinator of 4 big science conferences (Biotechsummit’23 online) with 150-200 participants all around Turkey. Within the scope of the WebE project, we brought together students with experts in the field under the theme of engineering in medicine and biology on an online platform. During my term of office, I also organized trainings such as R programming, Arduino, project writing trainings with my team. We started the EMBJOURNAL journal project to contribute to science and leave a memory for the future. I was the editor-inchief of the journal.
