Ground Segment System Design Engineer

I work on projects carried out jointly by the company with local and international expert companies such as Telespazio and Turkish Aerospace Industries. Ground stations with the concepts of antenna reservation of multi-satellite concepts of ground reconnaissance and observation satellites, ground stations, use of incoming telemetry data in the operational workflow, combining and then processing, cataloging and archiving the raw data coming from the satellite, creating satellite-specific acquisition requests, creating satellite-specific acquisition requests and sending the data take opportunities to the satellite via telecommand. I do system design and system engineering. With this;

  • Analysis of hardware and software requirements of systems, subsystems and configuration items, working closely with customer and design teams.
  • Preparation of system subsystem and configuration items requirements.
  • Subsystem design definition and preparation of design definitions of configuration elements.
  • Design review processes PDR and CDR with the customer.
  • Analyzing software requirements together with software design teams and creating the core design.
  • Interface design and ICD documentation according to requirements.
  • Documenting design process outputs according to ECSS standards.
  • Follow-up of requirements and architecture through DOORS and Enterprise Architect.
  • Conducted comprehensive testing and validation of system designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications

  • Gokturk1 Earth Observation Satellite project of TurAF, responsible for the following activities: Coordination of User Service Subsystem (programming chain is composed of Service Access Point and Mission Planning, Catalogue Archive and Dissemination, Image Exploitation Service ) activities of Gokturk1 Earth Observation Satellite Ground System. Responsible for Operational Daily Briefing presentation which reports all operational and engineering activities (including maintenance, contingency recovery and routine) describing the problems/anomalies reported in trouble tickets and suggesting possible solution strategies and workarounds to customer. Evaluating the effect of trouble tickets on system, subsystem and “configuration item” level. Reporting all activities took place in system level to upper management. Tracking and investigating entire system and interfere to the problems took place in the system. Updating and reviewing operational, maintenance and contingency procedures.
    Design/Integration and Verification&Validation of Gokturk Ground Segment Mission Control System which includes distributed Servers/Clients and workstations running on Windows, Linux (Suse and Redhat OS). Worked in Assembly, Integration and Validation (AIV) of all Ground Segment components by defining and planning test procedures, test scenarios, test input preparations, manual/automated (using scripts and in house developed tools) expected value computations.
