I am a 16 year old school leaver and am looking for an electrical apprenticeship. I
am keen to learn a trade and hopefully become an electrician.
I have always been interested in technology and I am good with numbers. I like building things and working out how things work. I am also good at problem-solving and enjoy trying to find a way to fix or make something. When I am interested in a subject, I can really focus and stick with it until completed. I have also had the chance to be shown some basic electrical work by an electrician. I enjoyed seeing how the work is done and it made me more interested in learning the trade properly.
At school I studied Art & Design, Home Economics, Sport, Hospitality and Tourism, and I have achieved BTEC merits/pass in these subjects. I enjoy practical work and learning by actually doing things.
I am looking forward to getting my first experience of working and learning from people who are experienced in their field. I understand that I will need to be reliable, punctual, listen and work hard.
I would really like the chance to prove myself, learn new skills and work towards a career as an electrician
I have worked along side my Dad who carries out vehicle inspections, which includes electrical work from12v systems to EV and hybrid powered vehicles. He taught me how to carry out mechanical and electrical testing.
I have also installed a light switch and a mains powered doorbell at home.
Lastly, my uncle gave me the opportunity to assist in fitting new lights into a bathroom which required me going into the loft and wiring the lights.
