• Inter-acting with company management and other disciplines to develop the control, safety and monitoring systems and instrumentation philosophies.
• Reviewing all relevant other discipline documentation and participate in the development of the P&IDs
• Issue material requisitions to the Procurement Department for enquiry, order placement and for any subsequent revisions
• Preparing the Master Requisition Index and updating and issue it on a regular basis.
• Reviewing Vendors' quotations, preparing technical quotation evaluation and recommending the final technically acceptable Vendor, in conjunction with Materials Management Department commercial quotation evaluation.
• Technically approving Order Variation Summaries
• Hold co-ordination meetings and engineering review meetings with Vendors of major equipment as required carry out technical investigations, produce technical reports, engineering standards and procedures
• Assisting in the development and training of personnel when requested.
• Ensure that guidelines related to Instrumented Protective Systems are developed and correctly implemented within onsite Plant Systems

• Work in Petkim Petrochemical Holding Inc as senior electrical maintenance engineer.
• Maintenance on the subject of power electronic systems (UPS, Batteries, Variable Speed Drives) and low current systems (Fire& Gas Alarm Systems, Paging Systems, Radio Systems etc)
• Responsible of 1 forman and 17 technicians.
• Analysis of machine failures
• Estimation of maintenance costs
• Assessing the needs of equipment replacements, spare parts
• Assessment of the required tools for the maintenance of the equipment
• Adopt and implement a detailed maintenance plan to minimize failures resulting in stoppage of work
• Recruit and train the maintenance staff
• Keep updated with the upcoming versions or latest machinery required in the organization
• Replacing the spare parts of the machines as and when required ~ Responsible for performing routine maintenance
• Responsible for maintaining an inventory for the requirement of the supplies and spare parts
• Troubleshoots plant electrical problems to determine their cause and recommends options for eliminating such problems includes carrying out tests on equipment.
• Condition Monitoring and Predictive maintenance of critical equipment and corrective actions to avoid breakdown.
• Planning for resources and manpower for planned shutdown of the plant and execution including startup.
• Material procurement through SAP and maintaining minimum spares for attending breakdown and reducing breakdown time.
• Awareness on Hazardous area classifications and selection of electrical equipment.

The largest projects that I lead:

• A total number of 120 AC variable speed drive commissioning (at various powers of Siemens, ABB, Toshiba, Schneider Altivar, Fuji, Mitsubishi, SEW) The annual energy savings of all these drives is approximately 850,000 USD.
• Member of team responsible for the modernization of the existing data center includes commissioning of power modular UPS and generator project, HVAC systems and fire detection system and installation of FM200 gas extinguishing system.
• Low harmonic VSD and high efficiency fan motor (#22) application project at water cooling towers
• Energy saving project that consists of 22 number of VSD (Siemens S120) and high efficiency fan motor with PLC automation system.
• Member of PTA capacity revamp project team. Installation, cabling and commissioning of 15 variable speed drive and 9 soft starters. And also make them communicate to DCS.
• Commissioning of 20 parallel redundant UPS systems that have a capacity from 15 kVA to 60 kVA. Mounting, installation and commissioning of UPS systems that feeds DCS.
• Fire alarm and fire management system modernization. We have done modernization of fire alarm and fire management system in Petkim. We have replaced Siemens Sinteso Addressable Fire Alarm System (43 Panels, 3500 detectors, 700 manual call point, 700 sirens) and fire alarm center monitoring system MM8000 instead of existing conventional fire alarm control panels.

• I started as ,electrical maintenance engineer responsible from overhead cranes
• I have dealt with periodical maintenance of cranes, looking for revision projects for them and also predictive maintenance
• Later assigned same role but in arc furnaces
• I have been responsible from maintenance of transformers (90 MVA), vacuum circuit breakers (6.3 kV 2500 A) and their digital control relays, automation system, instruments of arc furnaces
• My projects were: - Commissioning of casting overhead crane with regenerative variable frequency drives (ABB ACS800) Preparation of technical specifications, FAT, commissioning of the project that includes pair of crane (160 ton capacity) installation with regenerative variable frequency drives(ABB ACS800) integrated with s7 300 automation system. - Revamp Project Of Two Arc Furnaces
• PLC upgrade project (Siemens S5 to S7 400), detail engineering, execution and commissioning.
• Instrumentation & Control system engineering as per the applicable codes and standards.
• Preparation & Checking of Instrument Index, I/O list, Instrument Hook up diagram, Instrument location drawing.
• Preparation & Checking of Cable engineering like Cable tray routing, Cable schedule - Commissioning of medium voltage variable frequency driver
• Commissioning of medium voltage variable frequency driver (ABB ACS 2000) on dedusting system fan motors (800 kW). - Revision and commissioning of 5 pages SCADA system
• Revision and commissioning of recipe consisting of 5 pages from Citect Scada System to WinCC Scada System.
