My abilities as a Data Scientist and Credit Risk Modeling Manager are rooted in a sturdy education in statistics. I began with a bachelor's degree in statistics from Mimar Sinan University. I followed this
with a master's degree in statistics with first place at school. I believe my personality has also played a major role in my ability to succeed in both of my educational life and my career. I am an extremely
responsible, helpful, analytical, data-oriented person and a team player. Even in my personal life I like to look at the data before making a decision. There was nobody I could not get along with in my business life. I care so much about importance of teamwork and cooperation within the team. I explore what I need, I try to improve them.
During my previous work experiences for ten years at Denizbank and Garanti BBVA, I had an extensive range of responsibilities including technical skills such as credit risk modeling, optimizing classifiers, mining data, improving data collection techniques, processing data, customer segmentation, development of core credit risk models, development of innovative models with recent techniques and finding new data sources. I also have the ability to manage the team, planning and team motivation. I am responsible for managing of each step from processing the raw data to the development of the model and from the model until the scores reach to our internal customers. I’m familiar with IRB regulations and developed application and behavioral models which fits IRB regulatory.
As a credit risk modeling manager and a data scientist, I am required to have excellent relationship skills, understanding of algorithms, excellence in Python, SQL, SPSS, and applied statistics. During my ten-year tenure at Denizbank and Garanti BBVA, I applied these skills daily and performed exceptionally at the company. My directors at both banks where I worked were extremely satisfied with my working discipline.
