Accomplishments
documentary I directed in collaboration with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation was selected as the best African film of the year. I was also honored by the Somali Ministry of Information and Tourism for my role in reshaping the image of Somalia for the diasporas.
Additionally, I was recognized by my university for delivering the best performance as a debater in the Qatar Debates 2015. I was also awarded gold and silver medals by the Arab League and the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports in the Arab Youth Memory Championship.
Moreover, I have received several international scholarships and fellowships to represent my country abroad. I am proud to be considered one of the most influential media and documentary content creators in Somalia, and I am one of the most active collaborators with international filmmakers and TV channels seeking to tell authentic stories from the Horn of Africa.
