As the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce undertook the Presidency of the Association of Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME) between 2007 and 2012, besides other duties I basically:
- Played an active role in the institutionalisation of the ASCAME.
- Managed projects addressing the EuroMed Area.
- Participated in the statutory meetings of the ASCAME.
- Monitored the activities of the General Secretariat and coordinated the ASCAME network including 210 Chambers of Commerce from Mediterranean countries.
- Carried out research on Mediterranean issues and prepared the speeches/ declarations of the President.
- Played an active role to make the ASCAME one of the UN Global Compact signatories.
