Eyyup Hakan Ercan

During my time as a student, I was a successful student and I got a certificate of honour every semester. I was not only a successful student, but also a successful athlete and a good role model for freshmen.

I started karate when I was 7 years old, since then I have been training 4 times a week. Currently I'm a 1st Dan Karate athlete and assistant trainer. I have won a lot of medals during this period and I am still longing for many more. While I'm doing my training to improve myself, I'm trying to do my best to train the younger athletes to become a good athlete and most importantly to grasp the philosophy of karate which will help to become a good person in the society.

Our class is a language class, which means that the density of the classes is English, but we have less maths classes. Language classes are usually preferred by those students who are not good at maths and science. However, my maths is good and I was asked by my classmates to tutor them before the semester exam. I volunteered to tutor them for 2 hours a week until we took the exam.

Me and my friends who live near each other took the initiative and organized people in our building to feed the stray dogs for a year during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the COVID-19 outbreak, the government asked people to quarantine themselves for a while. Although this was a precautionary measure to stop the pandemic, it was a disadvantage for the stray dogs who had difficulty finding food. I'm glad we were able to help these animals.
