During my internship at HAVELSAN Teknoloji Radar, I gained in-depth experience in embedded systems and digital communication protocols. I worked extensively with STM32 Nucleo-F411RE and Arduino platforms, where I implemented and compared multiple serial interfaces (UART/USART at TTL, RS-232, RS-485 levels; SPI; I²C) in real applications. This included configuring peripherals via STM32CubeIDE, using interrupts and DMA for efficient data transfer, and addressing hardware-level challenges such as voltage level mismatches between 3.3 V and 5 V devices.
A key part of my work involved integrating the ArduCAM OV2640 camera module: I used I²C for low-level register configuration (resolution, format, compression parameters) and SPI burst mode for high-speed JPEG data acquisition, enabling reliable image capture and streaming on resource-constrained microcontrollers. Through this, I strengthened my skills in master–slave architectures, real-time data handling, and hardware/software co-design, gaining a practical perspective on trade-offs between communication protocols in embedded vision systems.
