Accomplishments

I have taught English to all age groups ranging from 6 to 66. My teaching career started in 2000 with mountain summer camps for teenagers, three summers in a row. In the meantime, I started working at METU, School of Foreign Languages, Department of Basic English in 2001. In my first year there, I completed an-8-month long ELT in-service training programme offered by Cambridge University. Since then, I have taught mostly young adults and members of the general public of all age groups. I have experience in designing classes in alignment with the theory of Multiple Intelligences. I have plentiful experience in conducting conversation classes and assessing student performance. I can also assess a specific learner group's needs and develop an appropriate curriculum and testing scheme. I'm trained in testing and assessment in ELT by Sabancı University Prep School professional development unit. I have selected, adapted and tailored authentic texts to fine-tune them to be used as either teaching or testing materials.

Additional Information

After 22 years of campus life and academic teaching environment with about 3200 students, I believe I can manage teaching and testing departments of a prep school of an English-medium university.
