
I have a robust career profile with over 24 years of experience spanning education, retail, and technology sectors. I graduated from Abant İzzet Baysal University's Physics Department in 1999 and have since worked in different roles in BilgeAdam, Goldaş Kuyumculuk, and LC Waikiki. In BilgeAdam, I served as an office, web, sql server and software trainer, while simultaneously earning my master's degree in Financial Economics at Marmara University. I then transitioned into a Senior Analyst Software Developer role at Goldaş Kuyumculuk where i developed multiple business applications. I've been with LC Waikiki since 2010, progressing through various roles from a Business Intelligence Development Specialist (Data Engineer) to a Data Architect, eventually becoming the Big Data Management and Data Architecture Manager in 2017. I've implemented significant data projects, some of which have been published as success stories by Microsoft Global and Microsoft Turkey. I also lead a team of 18 people and manage over a million dollar budget. I'm responsible for 18 people (data specialist, data engineer, data architect), analytical systems (ods, dwh, bigdata, olap) and over a million dollar budget. Some of the DWH case studies we have done so far have been published as success stories by Microsoft Global and Microsoft Turkey. Our Bigdata project was published by Komtaş as a success story. I managed the end-to-end organization at LCWDatathon 2019, which was held on 8-9-10 March 2019, and supported the 2019 THY Travel Datathon as a mentor and jury. DataPlatform Modernization(2023), We identified our pain points in the data warehouse and started a modernization project based on these. We model the data again in our Landing Staging Core and DataMart layers and we are doing our technology transformation on bigquery. Before choosing Google BigQuery, we did POCs with SnowFlake, Oracle, Vertica products. Although SnowFlake is a few steps ahead of BigQuery as a product, we decided on BigQuery with consultant and ecosystem parameters. We are advancing our project using DataFlow and DataForm on BigQuery., 2023 DOAR(2022), We had difficulties in presenting the DOAR (Detailed Option Analysis Report) that we developed as SQL Server Tabular Service in OnPremise on Powerful servers. This system had over 1200 unique users and the usage trend was decreasing from Monday to Friday. We transformed this project in Azure Cloud using AzureDataFactory, Azure Synapse, BlobStorage, AzureAutomate and Azure Analysis Service. With this project, we earned a cost of $110,000, achieved high customer satisfaction, and reduced the number of support calls by 100 calls per month. Our project won the 2nd Prize in the field of IDC Cloud Cost Efficiency., 2022 Data Democratzation With GCP(2022), We moved our finance data marts to Google Bigquery and enabled our customers to perform Self-Service analysis with Googlesheet., 2022 Bigdata ETL Offloading Project-2019, Over 50 of our most resource consuming ETL processes on DWH have been redeveloped with spark in the BDA environment. Earned 200K$ SQL License per Year (- 320K$ SQL, + 120K Cloudera). Our data processing performance has improved by 15 times on average and by 120 times at the maximum. Our longest data collection job decreased from 5 months to 2 weeks. Reduced CPU requirement on DWH. I ensured the dissemination of BDA in data science, data analytics, business analytics teams and other stakeholders. The success story of our project was published by Komtaş. We used Hive, Impala, Sqoop, Spark, Scala, Airflow, Yarn and Cloudera Manager in this project., 2019 DWH with ColumStoreIndex & Always On in SQL Server 2014, With the examination of SQL Server 2014 innovations, I have achieved the data warehouse architecture to be changed from fasttrack to columnar (Column Store index) structure, to provide HA with Always on, query time optimization up to 4000% and a compression ratio of 35X with the architectural change. I personally oversaw this project and transition. The project was presented at SQL Saturday 2014., 2014 LC Waikiki's First Data Warehouse with Fast Track Reference Architecture, We have developed the first Fast Track Architecture data warehouse in Turkey from scratch, designed with Star schema and kimball model. And updated the compression ratio from 4X to 7X from the ms whitepapers on SQL Server 2008 R2. The project was published by Microsoft as a success story.
